This year has seen an increase in events and publications about the art school and its teachers and students. The consequences and effects up to the present day are also the subject of critical retrospection. A book published in the USA in 1981 (German 1984) focused on the Bauhaus and its influence on architecture in the USA: ironic, merciless and informed. The author "was the eternal reporter in the white suit - and believed himself to be in a duel with the world until the end of his life. His bitterest enemy was always: ugliness".
