The Supervisory Board votes ahead of schedule to extend the managing director's term at Karlsruher Tourismus GmbH until the end of 2030.
Pascal Rastetter will remain managing director of Karlsruhe Tourismus GmbH. This was unanimously decided by the KTG supervisory board at its autumn meeting. The board thus extended the 32-year-old's contract ahead of schedule by a further five years until December 31, 2030.
KTG Supervisory Board Chairwoman and First Mayor Gabriele Luczak-Schwarz explains: "Over the past four years, the Karlsruhe tourism team led by Pascal Rastetter has successfully advanced numerous projects—from implementing the digitalization strategy and certifying Karlsruhe as a sustainable travel destination to creating a more appealing, modern corporate design. In times of growing challenges in tourism, the early extension of Mr. Rastetter's contract is an important sign of stability for Karlsruhe as a destination."
Pascal Rastetter joined Karlsruhe Tourismus GmbH in 2014 and took on several roles, including assistant to the management and head of the "Control & Services" department. In 2022, he served as interim head of KTG before officially taking up his position as managing director on January 1, 2023. On August 1, 2025, Pascal Rastetter was also appointed by the city of Karlsruhe, alongside KME CEO Martin Wacker, as managing director of the newly founded "The World Games 2029 Karlsruhe GmbH."
Pascal Rastetter refers to the key projects for the further development of Karlsruhe as a tourist destination: "With the new tourism strategy currently under development, we are setting the course for the sustainable and future-oriented development of our destination. The early contract extension is a valuable sign of confidence for me. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the KTG Supervisory Board for this. Together with my team, I would like to continue positioning Karlsruhe as a modern and strong travel destination and consistently continue the steps we have already taken."
