Karlsruhe presents extensive cultural and leisure program as well as its tourism heroes at CMT 2024

Enjoyment, culture and joie de vivre are high on the agenda in Karlsruhe in 2024. This is also reflected in the tourism program presented by KTG Karlsruhe Tourismus GmbH at CMT from 13 to 21 January in Stuttgart.

At the largest public trade fair for tourism and leisure, visitors to the joint stand with the Northern Black Forest and the city of Pforzheim can expect comprehensive information material on cultural institutions, sights, city tours and other highlights for 2024. As an award for KTG's tourism work, three Karlsruhe residents are among the nominees for the Tourism Heroes 2024 campaign, which will be presented at CMT.

Karlsruhe - always worth a visit

In addition to KTG, the Karlsruhe booth at the CMT features the umbrella brand “Culture in Karlsruhe” and the Badisches Landesmuseum. The Karlsruhe Tourism Office provides an overview of the city’s culinary scene in its new brochure, “Genussguide.” Newly published informational materials such as “Karlsruhe at a Glance,” “NaturRADtour,” and “City Walks 2024” also showcase the wide variety of tourist attractions.

Pascal Rastetter, Managing Director of KTG Karlsruhe Tourismus GmbH, explains: “We want to show that Karlsruhe is still worth a visit in 2024. Since Tourismus Marketing GmbH Baden-Württemberg has declared 2024 the Year of Water, we have expanded our portfolio of city tours to include sustainable tours centered on the theme of water.”

The 2024 cultural program promises to be varied and vibrant: From August 15 to September 15, the Schlosslichtspiele will attract numerous visitors to the city under the theme of “Law and Democracy.” The event marks the 75th anniversary of the German Basic Law. A highlight will be the performance by music legend Herbert Grönemeyer on August 9 and 10, setting the stage for the light art spectacle. Culture lovers can also look forward to the 25th Karlsruhe Museum Night (KAMUNA). And at the “ Hallenbau ,” visitors will find art from various eras and styles at the ZKM, the Municipal Gallery, KunsthalleKarlsruhe@ZKM, and the University of Art and Design.

To mark the grand finale of the 1980s exhibition in February, the Badisches Landesmuseum will once again be promoting the event at the CMT trade show and presenting its annual program.

Three Karlsruhe residents nominated as tourism heroes

Susanne Wolf, Head of Tourist Information at Schaufenster Karlsruhe, Stephanie Sivic, Network and Partner Manager at KTG and Rocco Trunz, Operations Manager at the campsite in Durlach, are three Karlsruhe residents among the nominated tourism heroes. Every year, the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism, among others, honors people who are committed to tourism in Baden-Württemberg.

And with the three nominees, the choice has fallen on real thoroughbred tourism professionals. Pascal Rastetter, Managing Director of KTG, agrees: "We are delighted that all three tourism heroes nominated from Karlsruhe will be competing. Susanne Wolf as the good soul of the tourist information office, Stephanie Sivic as KTG's welcome ambassador and Rocco Trunz, who has brought the Durlach campsite back to life, are role models for tourism in Karlsruhe. They live and love the fan-shaped city like no other."

The award ceremony and presentation of all nominees will take place on January 17, 2024 on the main stage of the CMT trade fair.

Karlsruhe and the region have a lot to offer: Culture, nature, enjoyment, experiences for young and old. Visitors can experience this on all days of the trade fair in Hall 6, Stand 6B65, at the joint stand of the Northern Black Forest, Pforzheim and Karlsruhe.
