As one of Germany's most bike-friendly cities, Karlsruhe provides cycle racks in many locations - as well as ample cycle parking at the main station.

Bikes can also be taken on local public transport free of charge (Regulation: travelling on KVV with your bike).

Due to its proximity to Karlsruhe, the Northern Black Forest is a perfect destination for an excursion. Schwarzwald-bike.de features a variety of routes from Karlsruhe to the Northern Black Forest of varying levels of difficulty.

Didn't bring your bike on holiday with you? No problem! Tourists who'd like to explore Karlsruhe by bike, but haven't brought their own bike, can hire one from various cycle hire providers in Karlsruhe, e.g. the fan-shaped cycle hire system.

Due to the official measures implemented by the State of Baden-Württemberg and the city of Karlsruhe to limit the spreading of COVID-19, Karlsruhe’s public life is currently facing severe restrictions. Cultural institutions, hotels and events are especially affected by this. The City’s shopping facilities are also very limited at the moment. Only essential businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies or banks remain open to the public. Opening times may vary from those advertised on this site.
