The Zoological City Garden is home to two special attractions: the lake stage and the milk bar. As part of the redesign of the Stadtgarten for the Federal Garden Show in 1967, the lake stage, consisting of a covered section and
a wooden platform in the lake, was built as a central venue by Gernot Kramer, Christoph Blomeier and Hans-Georg Bühler. The roofing consists of load-bearing and rotating elements. It was renovated between 2013-15.
The Milchbar is somewhat hidden away at the foot of the Lauterberg. It impresses with its 60s charm, which has been preserved to this day. Just like back then, it offers its own milk and ice cream specialties.
