Karlsruher Majolika-Manufaktur is the only ceramics manufacturer in Germany that has survived all the crises of the past century and is still producing. It was founded in 1901 at the instigation of the artists Hans Thoma and Wilhelm Süs.
Visitors can trace the artistic changes in the 19th and 20th centuries on the basis of numerous exhibits - from Art Nouveau to Expressionism, from the art of National Socialism to the trends of the 1950s and 1960s through to contemporary art movements.
In addition to ceramic objects, stagings, such as a room from the Berlin Admiral's Palace, illustrate the manufactory's range of products.
