Boulevard theater, musicals and modern comedies are offered in the venues of the Kammertheater, where many stars from film and television, such as Ralf Bauer, Dieter Hallervorden, Jutta Speidel, Richy Müller and Hugo Egon Balder, can be admired on the stages.The Kammertheater Karlsruhe was founded in 1956 by Wolfgang Reinsch. The first venue was in an old movie theater in Waldstraße, later moved to Rondellplatz. In 2004, the Kammertheater moved to Herrenstraße 30/32 as K1, in the heart of Karlsruhe's city center, to accommodate the growing audience. 250 seats are available there. Under the direction of Bernd Gnann and Ingmar Otto (from 2009), the second venue of the Kammertheater was opened in 2013 as K2. Since September 2025, it has been shining in new splendor - as ABBAHUS. The house becomes the stage for the popular IKEAtare Inka, Klaus, Erwin and Anke - ABBA hits and endless fun! In addition to the two permanent venues, there are also guest performances on the stage of the "Im Schlachthof" restaurant (Durlacher Allee 64).
Former Reichsbank
Reichsbank, later Landeszentralbank, today Chamber Theater - the building with its stately sandstone façade in the style of the in the style of Italian Renaissance city palaces was designed by the Berlin architect architect Max Hasak (1856-1934).Â
