Description
BEST ENTERTAINMENT - the Karlsruhe Chamber Theater
Boulevard theater, musicals and modern comedies are offered in the venues of the Kammertheater, and many stars from film and television, such as Ralf Bauer, Dieter Hallervorden, Jutta Speidel, Richy Müller and Hugo Egon Balder, can be admired on the stages.
The Kammertheater Karlsruhe was founded in 1956 by Wolfgang Reinsch. The first venue was in an old cinema in Waldstraße, later moved to Rondellplatz. In 2004, the Kammertheater moved to Herrenstraße 30/32, in the heart of Karlsruhe's city center, to accommodate the growing audience. 250 seats are available there. Under the management of Bernd Gnann and Ingmar Otto (from 2009), the Kammertheater opened a second venue in autumn 2013, the "K2" at Kreuzstraße 29, a former church that was converted into a theater and offers 220 seats. This means that popular productions can be performed more frequently and new plays can be realized earlier. In addition to the two permanent venues, there are also guest performances on the stage of the "Im Schlachthof" restaurant (Durlacher Allee 64).
