Citypark
The Citypark connects several green spaces with each other, creating a feel-good atmosphere in the middle of Karlsruhe's city center that invites you to relax and unwind.
There is now also an elevated "esplanade", a tree-lined walkway that runs along the entire green area. An 85-metre-long lake lined with reeds, a football pitch, a playground and a "Garden of Religions" are among the special attractions in the park.
Description
Together with the Günther-Klotz-Anlage and the Zoologischer Stadtgarten, the City Park is one of the "green fingers" in Karlsruhe's city center. The concept of a large contiguous green area originated from the ideas competition for the 2001 Federal Garden Show. In addition to the large meadow area, which is available for free play or recreation and offers a view of the last foothills of the Black Forest, the City Park, which covers an area of almost nine hectares, is also characterized by urban and modern buildings. The office and residential buildings are designed in such a way that they repeatedly provide visual axes that allow views from north to south, but also towards the castle.
