The ZKM presents art and its production by guest artists on site. It is currently the only cultural institution worldwide that profoundly integrates the many aspects of art: production and research; exhibition and performance; education and dissemination; and conservation and restoration. ZKMs interactive installations invite the thousands of visitors of all ages they attract every year to participate and actively engage with the art works.

A guided tour by ZKMs communication specialists through ZKM’s internationally acclaimed exhibitions revealing a specific focus on the past and present of Media Art. This is followed by another behind-the-scenes media-tour and talk by experts from ZKM’s Institute for Music and Acoustics and Institute for Visual Media on researching media art, including a visit to ZKM’s Laboratory for Antiquated
