Speyer and Schwetzingen

In 1981 the Imperial Cathedral in Speyer, consecrated in the 11th century, was entered into the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

The cathedral is one of the main works of Romanesque architecture in Germany and at the same time the largest construction of its era in Europe. Schwetzingen, on the other hand, is known for its festivals, its asparagus and above all for Schloss Schwetzingen the town’s landmark and the former summer residence of the Electors Palatine.
