Train

Karlsruhe transport hub

Karlsruhe is a transport hub for a number of train connections with 130 long distance trains daily and is located directly on the ICE route from Hamburg to Basel via Frankfurt. The west-east route from Karlsruhe to Munich via Stuttgart also begins here. Karlsruhe is therefore directly connected to many German and European cities - arriving by train is ideal!

Karlsruhe‘s main station

Karlsruhe‘s main station is located to the south of the city centre, opposite the city gardens/zoo. When leaving the station using the main exit, you will see both a taxi stand as well as tram stops on the newly designed square outside the station. The tourist information office is also situated on the other side of the square.

KONUS guest card

KONUS stands for "free travel by bus and train for tourists in the Black Forest". Holidaymakers in the Black Forest have been able to reach Karlsruhe free of charge using the KONUS guest card since 1 January 2012. More information about the KONUS guest card.

Reaching Karlsruhe with the TGV

Karlsruhe is the only German city with two TGV connections. In addition to the east-west Paris-Bratislava route, Karlsruhe has also been on the TGV Marseille-Frankfurt high-speed route since March 2012. More information can be found at https://de.oui.sncf/de/.
