In addition, the stores surprise visitors to the city center every day with small promotions, discounts or gifts. The whole thing is accompanied by Christmas music and extended lighting to create an atmospheric ambience.

The popular "Klingender Advent" campaign is entering its next round this year under the tongue-in-cheek motto "Klingende Baustelle".
Together with the City of Karlsruhe and Karlsruhe Marketing und Event GmbH, the Musikhaus Schlaile Musikhaus Schlaile brings Kaiserstraße to life musically on the four Advent Saturdays: pianos set up and live performances by music clubs, choirs, ensembles, trombone choirs, school bands and other groups create a festive atmosphere despite the building fences and invite you to linger.

Christmas in the Club | Jazzclub Kaiserpassage

On December 13, 2025, jazz musicians from Karlsruhe will be performing at a major charity concert to support the Karlsruhe Jazz Club, which is in dire straits. With Christmas swing classics and many surprise guests, the "Christmas Jam" aims to raise as much money as possible, as cuts in the cultural budget and rising energy and rental costs are confronting the newly reopened club with existential problems. The musicians, who already played at the opening in 2023, now want to save their stage again with heart and passion and send a strong signal for the preservation of the club.

All year round
Additional greenery in the form of small trees and planters will be implemented to enhance the square. These contribute to a friendly atmosphere and are maintained by local residents. The measure complements the urban redesign of Kaiserstrasse.

Südliche Waldstraße e.V., with the support of Postgalerie and Karlsruhe Marketing & Event GmbH, is realizing the illumination of the fountain on Stephanplatz during Advent. The visual highlight creates an atmospheric link between Ludwigsplatz and Südliche Waldstraße.

Glittering lights on Ludwigsplatz

At Ludwigsplatz, a new Christmas light span will be installed to visually enhance the area and incorporate the southern Waldstraße. The permanent purchase of the mounting posts should enable them to be reused in the coming years.
