Every year during Advent, St. Stephen's Church Square becomes a magical children's land. A small steam locomotive cheerfully makes its rounds and, together with the lovingly staged fairytale scenes, transforms the square into a children's wonderland. A special highlight - in addition to the visit of the Christ Child - is the stage with a changing children's program. From the magician to Punch and Judy. Festively decorated little houses offer food and drink for young and old.

  • The Christ Child in Kinderland St. Stephan in the Christmas city of Karlsruhe

When children's eyes light up, the Christ Child in Karlsruhe is not far away. On the first three Sundays in Advent, children can hand in their wish lists in person to the Christ Child at 2 p.m. or post them in the letterbox in Kinderland. After the Christ Child has collected the children's wishes, he will draw ten wishes and fulfill them with the support of the Karlsruhe Play Pyramid! But even those who are not drawn by lot will not go home empty-handed. Because the Christ Child will give all the children answers and small presents.

  • Fairytale tree in the Kinderland St. Stephan in Karlsruhe's Christmas town

Away from the hustle and bustle of the market, children and parents can immerse themselves in the world of fairy tales and legends. This is made particularly clear by the three entrance portals, which make Kinderland look like its own little town.
The dream of meeting the fairy tale characters from your favorite fairy tale can become reality here. The life-size figures from fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm invite you to admire them and the talking fairy tale tree completes the fairy tale landscape. Small, lovingly staged wooden houses tell fairytale stories and breathe a little bit of life into the fairytale figures. Many a childhood memory is awakened here. Be it Mother Hulda or Rumpelstiltskin, there is something for all fairytale lovers here.
