Even from a distance, you can see the red nose of his reindeer Rudolph - twice a day, the "Flying Santa Claus" (Falko Traber) floats with his sleigh over the Christmas market on the market square and enchants guests young and old. Psssst: After his ride at lofty heights, Santa Claus also hands out small presents to the children!

The "Flying Santa Claus" is unique in southern Germany. Every year, a weight weighing several tons is placed on the 25-metre-high mast to ensure that the 500 kg sleigh floats safely over the heads of the spectators. Behind the bearded mask is one of the world's best high-wire artists - Falko Traber, from Germany's best-known family of artists. He has created this romantic spectacle on the high wire with great attention to detail.

An unforgettable experience for all Christmas fans young and old!

The "Flying Santa" is presented and supported by the Karlsruhe Transport Association (KVV)the Sparkasse Karlsruhe and the Hotel am Markt.

Note: Depending on the weather conditions (e.g. storm), Santa may not be able to fly. This will be decided at short notice on site and announced over the loudspeakers. If a flight is not possible, Santa Claus will still distribute presents to the children.

Falko Traber
The whole of life is a balancing act

They lead a life on the edge: for over 500 years, the Trabers have been one of the most important families of artists and jugglers in Europe. The thrills are now in their 14th generation. The first document of the Traber family's feats dates back to 1512. At that time, Columbus had only just discovered America and Martin Luther had not yet formulated his 95 theses.

In the last century, the members of the "Trotter Show", as it was known at the time, were also known worldwide as "the Zugspitz performers". The reason for this was their spectacular performance on Germany's highest peak at an altitude of 2964 meters. They stretched their ropes at London's Wembley Stadium, in Tokyo, Berlin and Paris, and were even awarded honorary citizenship of Monaco.

The boss of FALKO TRABER - THE HIGH WIRE SHOWFalko Traber, was born in 1959 during a tour in Besancon, France. Baptized on the high wire, he rode a motorcycle on his uncle's shoulders across the rope for the first time at the age of five. Since then, he has traveled to well over 40 countries with his high wire show. Japan and the United Arab Emirates are just some of the exotic destinations where Falko Traber has already made guest appearances.
