As a volunteer, you make Karlsruhe and its events authentically perceptible and tangible. You act as a link and information carrier between the guests and the organizer. All your activities as a volunteer are a driving force for the welcoming culture of the city of Karlsruhe. You take on tasks that convey a positive image, communicate with people and pass on information. You gain exclusive insights into the production processes of events and are actively involved in their implementation and external impact. As a guide and source of information, you can show guests your Karlsruhe and get them excited about it. You will constantly get to know new people and can experience Karlsruhe in a new way.
As a Karlsruhe volunteer, you stand for civic engagement, identification with Karlsruhe and social cohesion. Helpfulness, appreciation, openness, willingness to communicate and reliability are the basis of your actions.

- Register at www.karlsruhe-volunteer.de in the volunteer database and complete your profile.
- Once you have completed your registration (profile status 100%), you will be invited to attend a training session. Please note that for organizational reasons, there are a maximum of two training dates per year. During this training session, you will get to know the KME and KTG volunteer management team and receive detailed information about the volunteer program and upcoming opportunities.
- In addition, as a new volunteer, you will have access to a pool of experienced volunteer mentors who will be available to assist you during your first few months of volunteering.
- At the end of the training, you will receive your official volunteer kit and sign the volunteer agreement—then you will be an official volunteer for the city of Karlsruhe and can apply for assignments via the database.
- To register as a volunteer, you must be at least 18 years old and have at least B1 level German.

The volunteers of the City of Karlsruhe appear uniformly in turquoise blue in order to make them recognizable and strengthen their own brand. To this end, each volunteer receives an official volunteer outfit and a personalized volunteer ID card as part of their training.

Every volunteer has the opportunity to use the KVV network free of charge during their assignment. The so-called "KVV certificate" is only valid on the day of the assignment and only in conjunction with the volunteer outfit and the personalized volunteer ID card. In addition, all volunteers are covered by accident and liability insurance during their assignments, regardless of their individual insurance cover.

Organizers are required to provide beverages (at least water) during every assignment. For assignments lasting more than 4 hours, organizers are also required to provide snacks (e.g., sandwiches). If this cannot be guaranteed in exceptional cases, the assigned volunteers will be notified and asked to provide their own food. They will then be reimbursed for their food expenses by the volunteer management upon presentation of the original receipt.

On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, the spokesperson team invites all active volunteers to a regulars' table at the Ristorante Pizzahaus in Karlsruhe's Oststadt district. In addition, the speaker team regularly organizes various private activities and guided tours.
In addition, the voluntary commitment of all active volunteers is honored annually at a volunteer party. The event is organized by the KME/KTG volunteer management team.
