Outlook for the 2025 program

Just a few days after the date was announced via the existing network, as well as on the Internet and in the print media, "Tribute to Carl Benz" has already proved enormously popular for this year.

We are particularly pleased that so many classic car enthusiasts have agreed to present themselves for the first time this year against the extraordinary backdrop of Karlsruhe Palace.

Multi-award-winning exceptional vehicles rub shoulders with everyday classics. The familiar character is an important criterion for the popularity of this format, which has developed into a brand name over the decades.

In addition to vehicles built up to 1973, which will continue to form the main focus, a hand-picked selection of representatives from the 1980s will once again illustrate the early transitions into the modern era.

For the all-day entertaining vehicle presentations Johannes Hübner one of the most experienced insiders on the scene with his incredible background knowledge.

Other items on the program, such as the popular final parade, are still being planned.

April 23, 2023

The classic tribute to Carl Benz, including the parade, was canceled by the organizers in 2023 due to the poor weather forecast. On Sunday, April 23, 2023, an alternative classic car meeting was held as part of the Festival of the Senses around 350 historic vehicles against the backdrop of Karlsruhe Palace. There was also an information stand for the special exhibition "The 80s - they're back!" and a racing car from the KIT KA-Racing Team were presented in front of the palace.

The tribute to Carl Benz honors the famous automobile inventor Carl Benz, who was born in the Mühlburg district. This year, the traditional event finally returned to its traditional location in front of Karlsruhe Palace, the most beautiful backdrop that Karlsruhe has to offer.

Aftermovie 2017

The classic car rally "Tribute to Carl Benz" has been taking place in Karlsruhe since 1999. Since then, the event has regularly attracted tens of thousands of visitors with more than 400 highly polished historic vehicles on display. The "Tribute to Carl Benz" initiative pays tribute to the great achievement of Carl Benz, who was born on November 25, 1844 in the Karlsruhe suburb of Mühlburg. His "Benz Patent Motor Car Number 1", for which he applied for a patent in January 1886, is regarded as the first practical automobile - and Karlsruhe as the home of the automobile inventor.
