Tour of August Kutterer's studio
August Kutterer's descendants will provide insights into his studio and life. They look forward to conversations and encounters. Kutterer's granddaughter will provide information about her book "Wege in gelingendes Leben" (Paths to a successful life) with paintings by A. Kutterer and thoughts by Viktor Frankl. The 4 km long Kutterer trail to his painting sites around Daxlanden starts at the studio. Information and directions are available on site.
Time: 10:30 am, all visitors can stay as long as they like

The painter A. Kutterer, who was born in Daxlanden in 1898 and died there in 1954, lived and worked there. Trained at the Badische Kunstakademie and a master student of Goebel, his painting can be classified as Impressionist. Numerous of his works, painting utensils and personal objects can be seen in his studio. You can experience the atmosphere of his artistic work.

Guided tour: Architecture and history of the nature conservation center
In Karlsruhe, in addition to the Dammerstock estate, there are other New Building buildings from around 1929, e.g. in the middle of the Rheinpark Rappenwört, which was designed in 1926, and a tour of the nature conservation center provides details on the architecture and history of the building. On a walk to the Rheinstrandbad, the concept of the Rheinpark and other Neues Bauen architecture becomes clear.

The nature conservation center building was designed by Walter Merz (1897 - 1963) in the formal language of classical modernism as a bird observatory and built in 1929. Alongside the Dammerstock estate (designed by Walter Gropius and Otto Haesler), it is one of the most striking architectural showpieces of the Bauhaus era in Karlsruhe and has been used as a nature conservation center since 1996.
