THE FEST-Citymobil

In summer 2020 and 2021, the DAS FEST-Citymobil regularly provided the best atmosphere in Karlsruhe city center with surprising live performances against the corona blues at the weekends. The DAS FEST Citymobile was on the road again in 2022, presenting local music and international dance art on four weekends between June and September.

"DAS FEST unterwegs" is a project of KME Karlsruhe Marketing and Event GmbH to revitalize Karlsruhe's city centre by supporting the retail and gastronomy sectors. The project also served to support the established major event DAS FEST to the city center and make it a tangible experience. In cooperation with the Stadtjugendausschuss e. V. Karlsruhein particular the jubezthe aim of the project was also to create performance opportunities for local up-and-coming artists and thus bring programs for and by young people to the city centre.

The project was launched in 2020 as an emergency coronavirus measure and continued as such in 2021. Conceived as a spontaneous experience without prior notice, the DAS FEST Citymobil provided music lovers and city center strollers alike with a unique, Corona-compliant shopping and concert experience for two years in a row until autumn. Whether solo performance, trio formation or seven-piece band with drums, hip-hop, jazz, ballads or Balkan beats - the band line-ups were just as varied as their respective musical repertoires. 

In 2022, the project was relaunched by KME City Marketing as an independent measure. The Stadtjugendausschuss e. V. Karlsruhe also ran its own tours as part of the project - including as part of the Südstadtfestival on May 21.
