In this workshop I will give an introduction to my artistic practice, which is located at the interface of urban and contemporary dance.
Together we will explore choreographic and dance tools based on the two productions deciphered and connect! The following questions are central to this: How do we modify basics from urban dance to use them in the context of contemporary choreography? How do we relate to the space in which we move? How to each other and to the audience? What role does music play in this? Using repertoire from the two productions, we will analyze various basic urban techniques and movement concepts, especially breaking, in order to find our own style. Particular attention will be paid to the repetition of movements in order to design them for different stage situations. Using movement sequences that we deconstruct and reconstruct, we will try out different performance scenarios.
