From May 10 to June 9, 2024 , pianos will be set up in Karlsruhe city center for free music-making.Â
During this period, many small concert areas invite citizens and visitors to enjoy music and create an extraordinary atmosphere in the city center.
From classical to pop to jazz, keyboard artists of all ages, whether beginners or professionals - everyone is invited to enrich Karlsruhe's city center musically.
Under the name"Spielend helfen"(Playing to help), this year's campaign is a charity event in cooperation with the Ukrainer in Karlsruhe e.V. association. The donations collected will benefit the association.
The opening event of the charity piano campaign on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. will be accompanied by pianist Kai Adomeit. At selected times, there will be a supporting program with regional pianists at the locations, which guarantees musical highlights throughout the entire campaign period. In cooperation with the piano manufacturers Kawai and Yamaha, new pianos are in use at the Spielend helfen locations. At the end of the campaign, these pianos can be purchased from Musikhaus Schlaile at a reduced price or rented for 40 euros per month.
