A book sparked my wanderlust—the rest just fell into place along the way.
In 1998, I traveled by bike alone from New York to Chicago and on via the legendary Route 66 to Los Angeles. I navigated using paper maps, did little planning, and rarely contacted home.
Decisions were made along the way, often spontaneously and without a fixed plan.
Over 7,700 km, the journey increasingly became the destination.
At the end, we invite you to stay for snacks and drinks and chat.
Admission is free.
