They've done it again: in a record time of just five years, the Karlsruhe-based rock band for special tasks has completed a new album:
"Die Überheblichkeit des Bademeisters" ("The arrogance of the lifeguard") features eight songs that swing wildly back and forth between deeply emotional ballads ("20 Sommer"), wide-legged blues rock ("Back To Zero") as Joe Cocker would sing it today, feisty hard rock à la Deep Purple ("Standing There"), fuzzy German pop ("Tausend", "Wenn Du liebst") and bombast rock ("Schundromane und Schabracken").
Throughout all of this, however, the tremulous over-50s band's own signature and youthful vigor is always noticeable - which is also reflected in their endlessly long live performances. The six brand new songs are complemented by two previously unreleased bonus tracks: an orchestral version of the 2014 world hit (at least half a dozen radio appearances!) "Ich hab' den Mond gefangen" and the song that could save Deutsche Bahn if they finally bought it as an official advertising song: "Nur mobil".
