Under the KarlsUnruhe label, two acts from the region make noise once a month at Minestrone and this month there's a Franco-Allemand special: KARLSUNRUHE meets NANCY.
And alongside our Alice & Dolores, there will be a band from Nancy: yume! Alors bienvenue and welcome to this very special edition of "Karlsunruhe".
Alice & Dolores are no longer an insider tip in Karlsruhe and have made a name for themselves beyond the region with their atmospheric mix of ambient, post-rock and pop at breakneck speed. The band is united by a strong connection to emotional music and the four of them have been playing atmospheric live sets for the curious since 2022 with swings in the direction of Daughter, Pink Floyd, Chelsea Wolfe or Portishead, sometimes intimately quiet, sometimes trippy psychedelic, sometimes beautiful, sometimes doomsday, always interesting and touching. The contrast is held together by artistic drumming, lively guitar hall effects, creative songwriting and, of course, front woman and artist Marleon, who will unexpectedly often twist the heart of the attentive listener. At Minestrone, new songs will be played in front of an audience for the first time AND the early June release and the city-twinning Nancy trip will be celebrated, so don't miss it!
yume is the Japanese word for "dream", uncertain and fragile, but also a source of great ambition. With their ethereal pop sound, which is influenced by all kinds of musical genres, the four musicians express their honesty and sensitivity. Their harmonious voices tell the story of their shared dreams and doubts and are reminiscent of the US band Warpaint in some places. The first EP "For the Better" deals with personal and universal themes and reflects the authenticity of their experiences and the friendship they share.
