Health lecture
EFFEKTE Series in October: Medicine in Transition: Precise, Connected, Personalized
What will the future of medicine look like? Prof. Dr. med. Christof A. Müller of the Municipal Hospital provides an overview of the current state of knee and hip replacement surgery—from conservative treatments to modern implants, minimally invasive procedures, and computer-assisted navigation.
Jérémy Lefint from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) invites attendees to explore the use of robotics and AI in the health and care sectors through illustrative examples and to discuss together how technology can be used in the health sector in a meaningful and humane way. Finally, Prof. Dr. Darko Jekauc, head of the INNOVARE research project at KIT, will demonstrate how artificial intelligence is transforming rehabilitation—for example, by tailoring therapy plans precisely to individual patients.

About the EFFEKTE science series:
Raising questions, but above all providing answers—that’s what the EFFEKTE series delivers. Every month—always on a Tuesday.
From May 2026 through the EFFEKTE Science Festival in June 2027, experience science up close—vivid, understandable, and absolutely cutting-edge.
On “Science Tuesday,” representatives from Karlsruhe’s universities and research institutions will present their work. They’ll offer insights into their research through a mix of keynote talks, discussions, interactive sessions, exhibits, and workshops. The title of the science series is “Shaping the Future: Health for Tomorrow’s Society.”
The lecture series is organized and conducted by the Karlsruhe Science Office of the City of Karlsruhe’s Economic Development Agency.
The EFFEKTE series takes place at TRIANGEL Transfer | Kultur | Raum on Kronenplatz in downtown Karlsruhe.
Events always begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
