Village communities are facing numerous changes. Model regions are increasingly being proclaimed and spatial pioneers are taking action. Can institutions learn from this structural change? Just in time for the 300th anniversary celebrations of the Staatstheater, Das Dorf dares to experiment and travels into a future in which the theater has been reopened as a model village. As a self-experiment in radical self-sufficiency, solidarity and hospitality.
The artist duo Herbordt/Mohren - Die Institution - are working on the theater series Das Repertoire in a two-year residency with the STAATSTHEATER, investigating an institution. Their works Das Stück and Das Theater were awarded the Theater Prize of the City of Stuttgart and the State of Baden-Württemberg in 2013 and 2017.
