Durlach wine trail (green route)
Medium
The Turmberg is Durlach's local mountain and is considered an excellent wine-growing area. Even the ancient Romans appreciated this. To combine hiking and wine in a meaningful way, the Durlach wine trails were inaugurated in 2018. Each individual trail is marked with different colored pictograms.

Description
Under the motto "Combining the attractions of Durlach's old town with the attractions of the Turmberg", three interesting new hiking trails have been created. On these paths, you can now find out how and where wine is grown on the Turmberg and enjoy the wonderful panoramic views of the landscape and the Rhine Graben. The largest, the five-kilometre circular trail, even includes Durlach's old town. But that's not all: you can use state-of-the-art technology on the hiking trails to enhance your hiking experience with information. How does that work?
A total of 13 stations along the hiking trails are equipped with so-called "beacons" from the company blukii, which display information relevant to the station directly on the smartphone. The free blukii app is required for this. When Bluetooth is switched on, information is transmitted near the beacon stations as text (10 stations) or as audio (3 stations). But okay - if you just want to hike on the Turmberg, enjoy the view and perhaps drink a glass of wine, you are of course also welcome to do so without any technology.
