Description
On the one hand, the first German UNESCO City for Media Art offers an impressive cultural program. The highlight is the ZKM | Center for Art and Media, which was voted one of the ten best museums in the world.
Just a few minutes away, the high-altitude districts of Grünwettersbach, Hohenwettersbach, Palmbach, Stupferich and Wolfartsweier invite you to cycle, hike, walk and linger in the magnificent forests with rare plants or the orchards with fantastic views over the Rhine plain.
Directions
From the Turmberg, the steps of the Hexenstäffele lead us into the vineyards of Durlach, which we cross with a view of the Rhine plain. Continuing along Rittnertstraße, we follow the paths out of the town into the open fields.
The Lotharpfad then leads us along narrow paths through the forest and past a game reserve. We finally leave the forest again and make our way to the AugenBlick and enjoy the view of the nearby northern Black Forest.
Via the flood retention basin between Durlach and the Thomashof, the route leads into the Rittnertwald forest along a narrow path to the Rittnerthof.
Passing the Schützenhaus (refreshments available), we return to the starting point at the Turmberg.
