Strategies and technologies to counter climate change
Since the issue of climate policy was addressed at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, technological developments for efficient energy use have become more important than ever before. The high concentration of research institutions has made Karlsruhe an important development centre for sustainable technologies. For this purpose, the industry network Energy Forum, together with partners from the business sector, provides a technology tour of Karlsruhe.
Programme
An introduction to outstanding application-oriented research and development projects such as those by the Institute of Refrigeration, Air-conditioning and Environmental Engineering (IKKU) which will make a live presentation on solar thermal cooling, block heat and power plant research, surface area geothermal energy sensors and ice slurry storage system technology.
