Karlstraße is one of the most important main roads in the fan-shaped city. With a length of almost two kilometers, it runs through the city center west, the southwest city and on towards Beiertheim-Bulach.

The direct connection to the Postgalerie shopping center directly on Europaplatz also makes for an extensive shopping experience in rainy weather. The street, named after Grand Duke Karl von Baden, passes Kaiserstraße, Kriegsstraße and Bundesstraße 10, making it particularly well integrated into Karlsruhe's transport network.
