Accessible shopping

Narrow entrances, heavy shopping trolleys and no lift to the fourth floor?

For seniors and individuals with limited mobility, an everyday shopping trip can often be a huge feat. However, in the Fan City, many companies are already paying attention to the needs of these customers and are showing the right way to do it!

The advisory council for people with disabilities has researched the accessibility of retail establishments in Karlsruhe city centre. Below, you can find a map of the businesses in Karlsruhe city centre that are wheelchair-accessible.

Additionally, the “Karlsruhe barrierefrei ...”-App shows the locations of disabled-accessible toilets, parking spaces, etc., on a map.

You can find more information in the two recommended brochures “Tips for Tourists and Locals with Disabilities” and “Information and Services for People with Disabilities”.
