Germany's first UNESCO City of Media Arts
Media art is universal - it stands for social and technological innovation, for creativity, networking and interdisciplinarity, and brings art and science together in a variety of ways.
Whether it's southern Germany's largest canvas at the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELEN, the fourth most important art museum in the world with the ZKM or media installations in the middle of the city: art of all media genres can be experienced in Karlsruhe. The boundaries between video, painting, programming, dance and audio merge throughout the year, not only behind the scenes, but also in participatory exhibitions, city-wide events and much more.
All information on the UNESCO title and current projects of the city of Karlsruhe can be found at www.cityofmediaarts.de.
