In a unique collaboration, the ZKM | Center for Art and Media, the Karlsruhe Art Museum moved into the building of the old munitions factory, followed shortly thereafter by the University of Design. With the State Art Gallery Karlsruhe , there is now even a fourth institution.

The institutions at Hallenbau Karlsruhe
Hallenbau houses four cultural institutions. The Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe displays parts of its collection in the exhibition rooms of the ZKM. The ZKM | Center for Art and Media is known for its innovative media art. The Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) shows creative design exhibitions, while the Kunstmuseum Karlsruhe presents contemporary art with a focus on regional artists.
