Karlsruhe meets!
As part of the project "City-Transformation" project, the city of Karlsruhe 2023, in collaboration with the radio station die neue welle and the City Initiative Karlsruhe e. V. presented a colorful program on the market square every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. that focused on regionality and diversity.
Various program ideas were developed in the course of the "Karlsruhe meets!" event series, including:
Deine Bühne / Your Stage
Clubs, dance schools and choirs had the opportunity to present themselves for an hour on the neue welle stage and demonstrate their skills. Up to four groups could perform on one event day.
Erlebnis-Schaufenster
Regional partner companies presented themselves and offered a colorful hands-on program for the whole family.
Genussregion on tour
Together with gastronomic partners, neue welle presented the culinary diversity of the region. There were open cooking courses to take part in, lectures and talks with winegrowers, manufacturers and restaurateurs.
"Best of Golden Guitar"
Participants in the "Golden Guitar" music contest from previous years performed on several Saturdays. Regional artists, bands and singer-songwriters were thus given the opportunity to showcase their talent in public and at the same time create anticipation for this year's contest at the Karlsruhe City Festival.
The world's longest karaoke party
neue welle called for a regional "world record attempt". Karaoke was sung continuously for eight hours, and a sum of money was donated to a regional aid organization if the goal was reached.

The opening event of "Karlsruhe trifft sich!" will be marked by an extensive family program: face painting for children from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., pavilions with puzzle fun and small prizes, interactive stage program for the whole family. From around 13:30 there will be a two-hour live program with the Uptown Band. The newly opened restaurant "Wilma Wunder".

From 12:00 to 14:00, short impulses from the Advisory Board of People with Disabilities of the City of Karlsruhe on various topics, such as life as a person with blindness, barriers and mobility in Karlsruhe, assistance dogs and easy language, self-experiments on the subject of "Living with disabilities", from 11:00 to 15:00 children's offer from "Carmensitas", from 3:30 p.m. live music with the up-and-coming Karlsruhe talent Adrian Habich

At 11:00 am & 1:00 pm hands-on yoga session with "be yogi" (no equipment needed, for beginners and advanced), from 14:30 performance and dance lesson by "Forró in Karlsruhe", from 15:30 "Wünsch Dir was" music by neue welle. There will also be an information stand of the 1st Shotokan Karate Club Neureut e.V..
