As KME Karlsruhe Marketing und Event GmbH, we are the primary point of contact for major events in Karlsruhe. With Baden-Württemberg’s largest family and cultural festival DAS FEST , we have a flagship event in our portfolio that sets an exemplary standard, particularly in terms of safety, cleanliness, and youth protection. In addition to globally renowned events such as the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Light Festival, we also organize the INIT INDOOR MEETING Karlsruhe as part of the World Indoor Tour, the Stadtwerke Karlsruhe WINTERZEIT – one of Germany’s most successful open-air ice rinks, embedded in the WEIHNACHTSSTADT Karlsruhe. City festivals held several times a year city festivals, image campaigns, and identity-building marketing initiatives, such as the website www.karlsruhe-erleben.de, as well as expertise and consulting services in event safety, round out our portfolio.

Your tasks

The internship is part of the KME division City Marketing, which is responsible for revitalizing Karlsruhe’s city center and promoting retail. The internship focuses on the area of online marketing. 

• Contributing to the maintenance and sustainable development of the website www.karlsruhe-erleben.de
• Coordination of online marketing activities, such as the Karlsruhe Blog and other platforms, such as a channel in the KA.App
• Planning and implementing marketing and PR activities in collaboration with other departments at KME
• Small, independent projects in online marketing and event management
• A glimpse into exciting major events, such as the Karlsruhe City Festival, advertising campaigns, and construction site marketing and downtown neighborhood development

Your profile

• a bachelor's or master's degree in marketing, media/communication studies, event management, business administration, or a related field
• Ideally, you already have some experience in project management, marketing, online marketing, or working with content management systems (CMS) and Google marketing platforms
• Proficiency in MS Office, strong written and spoken German and English skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and cooperatively
• Interest in the city of Karlsruhe and in helping to shape the city's attractiveness
• A dedicated, flexible, and resilient individual who is willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary

About the job 

• The internship is a fixed-term position and can be arranged flexibly for a period of 18 months to a maximum of 2 years
• The internship is a full-time position, i.e., 39 hours per week
• Compensation is based on the TVPöD
