Karlsruhe for the disabled

Karlsruhe for everyone

It is not only those with a disability that will benefit from the range of more accessible travel options. Families with children, senior citizens or those with (temporarily) restricted mobility will experience a relaxing and stress-free holiday thanks to the barrier-free accessibility!

Tourist information about accessible travel can be found as part of our information on tourist and cultural institutions and individual offers. We also offer accessible guided tours.

Discover the city using the public transport network

The city of Karlsruhe and the surrounding region has a well-developed public transport network. Save yourself time and stress in Karlsruhe with the suburban railway, tram and bus.

Whether its parents with prams or wheelchair users: the Karlsruhe Transport Authority (KVV) is continuously expanding its city and regional network to offer the highest level of accessibility and mobility. All lines have complete accessibility except for a few exceptions on the S-Bahn lines (S1, S11, S2, S4, S41 Süd, S5, S51/52).

Corona Virus

Important Information

Due to the official measures implemented by the State of Baden-Württemberg and the city of Karlsruhe to limit the spreading of COVID-19, Karlsruhe’s public life is currently facing severe restrictions. Cultural institutions, hotels and events are especially affected by this. Shops remain opened. Opening times may differ from the information on this website.

Our tourist information office located on Kaiserstraße 72-74 remains opened as well with high security measures and a maximum of five people at a time.

The city of Karlsruhe provides up-to-date information on the corona crisis at www.corona.karlsruhe.de or by phone +49 721/133-3333.

On a lighter note: if you feel like clearing your mind, go ahead and continue exploring the beautiful aspects of Karlsruhe through our digital offers at www.karlsruhe-tourismus.de/smartathome (only available in German).
