Tribut to Carl Benz

The traditional event is held in front of Karlsruhe Palace with a procession through the city centre in tribute to Carl Benz, a late resident of Karlsruhe and the inventor of the automobile.

Cars and motorbikes built in 1973 or earlier are permitted.

In the evening, visitors still have the opportunity to enjoy the impressive Schlosslichtspiele at Karlsruhe Palace from 8.30 pm. Everything at free admission!

SPECIAL TIP:

Already on Saturday, the 10th of August 2019, some especially beautiful vintage cars will be presented in the city center of Karlsruhe.

Important Information

Due to the official measures implemented by the State of Baden-Württemberg and the city of Karlsruhe to limit the spreading of COVID-19, Karlsruhe’s public life is currently facing severe restrictions. Cultural institutions, hotels and events are especially affected by this. Please refer directly to their individual websites for up-to-date information.

The City’s shopping facilities are also very limited at the moment. Only essential businesses such as grocery stores, pharmacies or banks remain open to the public. Opening times may vary from those advertised on this site.
