SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE

SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Karlsruhe

Under the title: "Demolition in Reality - Departure into Virtuality", the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Karlsruhe 2020 became virtual.

They celebrated their world premiere on August 5th with thousands of spectators from all over the world. For the first time, a projection mapping was created in digital space alone. Karlsruhe Palace and Palace Square were digitally recreated and the new spectacular shows are now “mapped” onto this virtual palace model.

It is also special that with this web projection mapping different perspectives can be taken. The two new shows, “Attitude Indicator” by TNL and “Changes³”, were also premieres.

The show started every evening at 8:15 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. until September 13th. The stream started a quarter of an hour beforehand with the countdown and a curious Grand Duke Karl Friedrich von Baden.

The SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Karlsruhe took place for the first time in 2015 for the 300th birthday of the city and has been delighting the public every summer since then. Over a million people have already visited the art experience on the 170-meter-long baroque palace facade.
