Shopping in the Christmas City of Karlsruhe

Glittering Christmas lights on every street, shop windows adorned with Christmas decorations, festive sounds and a variety of special campaigns transform Karlsruhe’s city centre into a shopping paradise during the Christmas season.

Karlsruhe’s city centre offers everything you need to make your pre-Christmas shopping trips a very special experience in a wonderfully contemplative atmosphere amid the hustle and bustle between Advent and New Year. Whether you’re out for a leisurely stroll or looking for a specific gift – there is something to suit every taste on the Kaiserstraße shopping boulevard and in the fan-shaped streets, from small specialist boutiques to large retail chains.

And the city's big shopping centres have also begun to think about ways to sweeten the Christmas shopping experience for their customers. So if it's too cold out on the street for you, then you can do your shopping in the warm, festively decorated Postgalerie and Ettlinger Tor centres. A little further away from the hustle and bustle, the festively decorated shops on Südliche Waldstraße invite you to stroll, browse and simply linger for a while.

The Christkindlesmarkt and Stadtwerke EISZEIT tempt you to stop for a leisurely break from shopping for something to eat and mulled wine in between purchases – no online retailer can compete with that.

Immerse yourself in the atmospheric and contemplative atmosphere of the Christmas City of Karlsruhe!
