Christkindlesmarkt, 26 November–23 December 2019

The unique and popular Karlsruhe Christkindlesmarkt is a richly traditional event. It is held each year in the run-up to Christmas, from the end of November to 23 December.

Besides Stadtwerke Eiszeit and on Kinderland St. Stephan the Christkindlesmarkt is part of Karlsruhe Christmas City. The Christkindlesmarkt was held at two locations for the first time in 2017: on Friedrichsplatz and on Marktplatz.

The market extends from Friedrichsplatz to Lammstraße, delighting visitors with a rustic and cosy ambience beneath the trees of the Waldweihnacht and the beautifully twinkling lights of the Lichtweihnacht: young and old can enjoy seasonal delicacies amidst the lovingly decorated gabled huts and in the Mulled Wine Forest, snaffle a surprise from Flying Father Christmas and his reindeer or marvel at the intricate craftsmanship of the wares on display.

The beautifully decorated Kinderland St. Stephan enchants our smallest visitors, inviting them on an immersive experience in our Christmas wonderland, with live fairy tale characters, the talking tree and a small steam locomotive.

Christmas cheer is guaranteed for young and old alike!

Bathed in a sparkling wintery glow, the Christkindlesmarkt will enchant visitors of all ages. It fits perfectly into the festive wonderland of the Fan City – shopping, along with a hot mulled wine and a delicious fried sausage to ward off the chilly temperatures – and leaves no wish unfulfilled. And it’s all laid out at the heart of Karlsruhe city centre!
