Summer vacation is just around the corner for many Karlsruhe residents, time to take a closer look at their travel destination and pack valuable tips and tricks in their suitcases. However, the travel bookshop in Karlsruhe also has inspiration and ideas for those who are still undecided about where to go.

Owner Volker Hager's travel bookshop at Herrenstraße 33 has been a popular Karlsruhe address for all travel enthusiasts since 2010.

Classic travel destinations, camping vacations and insider tips from the travel bookshop

Whether long-distance travel, camping vacations, active hiking and cycling breaks or unusual trips, such as a vacation exclusively by train - owner Volker Hager is a professional in his field and gives an outlook on where many Karlsruhe residents will be heading this summer. He also reveals some real insider tips. "The classics are, of course, popular vacation destinations such as Spain, France and Italy. We have lots of reading material here: from dictionaries and hiking maps to tips for bars, restaurants and the best beaches," says Hager. Of course, motorhomes and camping vacations are once again very popular this summer. "Especially in the hot summer months, many people are drawn to the Scandinavian countries, but Normandy is also a popular vacation region for Karlsruhe residents," explains Hager.

Vacation by train - the travel bookshop gives tips

Many Karlsruhe residents also have their ecological footprint firmly in mind when traveling and therefore use the train as a means of transport. "But what many Karlsruhe residents don't even have on their radar yet: There are great train connections throughout Europe, and night trains in particular make for very relaxed travel," says Hager.

Albania is very much on the rise, it is still a real insider tip and offers a variety of great beaches and nature.

The travel bookshop also offers suitable reading for active vacationers:

  • Hiking
  • Cycling
  • Paddling
  • Surfing

"Hiking in particular is still very popular with families, couples, groups of friends and singles. Whether here in the region, on islands such as Madeira and the Canary Islands or in Slovenia - hiking vacations offer both beginners and professionals a great opportunity for a successful break."

Last-minute ideas and inspiration can be found in the travel bookshop

Of course, there are also plenty of last-minute ideas and inspiration for last-minute travelers: Cycling tours through our beautiful region, city trips in the surrounding area such as Freiburg, Heidelberg and Strasbourg or day trips such as a hike through the rocky landscapes of the Palatinate or wine trail hikes are a little break from everyday life in the summer months, even without major planning.
