Since March 10, 2026, Karlsruhe has been home to a very special attraction: the Rooftop One Bar on the top floor of the Motel One at Kriegsstraße 23–25, which offers a breathtaking view of the "Fan City" and far beyond.

Take the elevator, located to the left of the entrance to the Motel One Hotels, residents of Karlsruhe can now reach the building’s tenth floor, where the newly opened Rooftop One Bar awaits them. Once there, the bar not only impresses with a spectacular view over the “fan-shaped city,” but also transports guests into a stylish world of indulgence and a cozy atmosphere. “The interior was very important to us, which is why we focused on high-quality furniture and a very special feel-good atmosphere,” explains Hotel Director Fabian Schmidt. Upon closer inspection of the One Bar, the symbiosis with the city of Karlsruhe—as the seat of the law—becomes clear. Everywhere, partly due to the proximity to the Federal Court of Justice, details can be found that pick up on the theme of law. “In the evening, the wall behind the bar transforms into a special installation by the Karlsruhe artist Jonas Denzel: various legal texts move in sync with the movements of the guests at the bar, creating a very special atmosphere,” explains Fabian Schmidt. Whether right at the bar or in one of the cozy lounge chairs—the indoor area of the rooftop bar offers space for about 60 guests, with an additional 20 seats on the adjoining outdoor terrace. “Of course, the space can also be booked with us for private events,” reveals the hotel director.

The Skybar at Motel One on Kriegsstraße in Karlsruhe is open not only to hotel guests but to all visitors to downtown Karlsruhe—and it’s open daily starting at 11:00 a.m. So if you’d like to spend your lunch break or take a break from the daily grind on the tenth floor with a view of the Karlsruhe skyline while enjoying specialty coffee from the in-house portafilter machine, the Rooftop One Bar is the perfect spot for you.

Fruity, bold, and unforgettable, the cocktail is a perfect blend of Williams pear, Triple Sec, elderflower, whipped egg whites, and Prosecco,” explains Vicky. The Rooftop One Bar’s menu also includes small snacks like potato chips, nut mixes, and chocolate, as well as the Motel One Toasts, which are freshly prepared and available in various variations:
