Down in the streets of downtown Karlsruhe, the heat is shimmering, but on the tenth floor of the GALERIA parking garage, there’s a place that feels more like Ibiza than the city center: DECKZEHN. Where the tenth floor of the parking garage used to be, visitors have been greeted since the end of May 2026 by a rooftop venue with sand beneath their feet, a laid-back atmosphere, and one of the most relaxing views in the city.

Where cars used to park, Marc-Frederick Leuwer’s vision has now given rise to a new summer hotspot for Karlsruhe: DECKZEHN. “The concept behind DECKZEHN is: urban rooftop meets beach bar vibe,” says the owner. The result is a summer oasis in the heart of downtown: warm wood, palm trees, lounge chairs, and fine sand. The result is a place that instantly puts everyone in a vacation mood.
DECKZEHN sees itself not just as a traditional bar, but as a versatile gathering place for relaxed afternoons, after-work evenings, or long summer nights.
The location really comes into its own at sunset, when you can enjoy refreshing drinks with a summery vibe during the golden hour, all while taking in a view of the entire city of Karlsruhe. Both the drinks and the menu at DECKZEHN create a genuine vacation atmosphere. From trendy golden hour drinks like Aperol Spritz, Sarti, or Lillet, to the Bubble Club featuring champagne and sparkling wine, as well as non-alcoholic versions of all cocktails, long drinks, and specialty coffees. For groups or events, there are more spacious areas with a special rooftop vibe.
