Vanessa Weiler, herself the mother of a toddler, took over the “Klee” secondhand store in downtown Karlsruhe in October 2025 and transformed it into “Kleines Klee.” “I was a customer at Klee myself, and when I heard that the owner wanted to close the store, I quickly realized that I wanted to carry on this wonderful concept and do something good for both the environment and other families,” said Vanessa Weiler.

This lovingly run secondhand children’s clothing store in downtown Karlsruhe, right next to “Badisch Brauhaus” in the courtyard at Stephanienstraße 34, offers secondhand fashion for babies and children and demonstrates that conscious consumption can be not only sensible but also stylish. “Secondhand” no longer means “used” in the traditional sense. Wer gut erhaltene Kinderkleidung zu Hause hat – besonders gefragt ist gerade Jungskleidung – kann diese unkompliziert zum Verkauf bei Vanessa anbieten. Über die Website oder direkt vor Ort können Verkaufsanfragen eingereicht und die Ware anhand von Fotos oder persönlich vorgestellt werden. Dadurch wird der Verkaufsprozess für Eltern möglichst unkompliziert gestaltet. Nach einer Prüfung entscheidet die Inhaberin dann, welche Artikel ins Sortiment aufgenommen werden. So entsteht ein Wiederverkaufs-Kreislauf: Kleidung und Spielzeug werden geprüft, verkauft und weitergenutzt. „Der Verkauf basiert auf Kommissions-Basis, 50% vom Verkaufspreis gehen dann an den Verkäufer“, erklärt die Inhaberin.
