Centrally located at Kaiserstraße 64, close to Karlsruhe's market square, owner Van Trung Nguyen and his team bring the culinary magic of Japan directly to Karlsruhe's city center: TA Izakaya delights inside with an elegant, straightforward and stylish Asian ambience and spoils the people of Karlsruhe with the incomparable cuisine of Japan: "Japanese cuisine is more than just sushi. It is considered sophisticated, healthy and aesthetic. At TA Izakaya, we interpret Japanese cuisine in a high-quality and trendy way," explains the owner.
The highlight of TA Izakaya: the Japanese "tapas"
In Japanese, "Izakaya" stands for a small, traditional pub that mainly offers drinks, but also small dishes. The word Izakaya is made up of the words: "I" for sitting and "Sakaya" for sake store. In other words, a small restaurant where you can enjoy the popular Japanese rice wine sake while sitting down and eating small dishes. And it is precisely this flair of Japanese sake bars that TA Izakaya transforms into a modern and unusual version: dark wood, straight lines, indirect lighting, cozy Japanese-style seating and the highlight: the fine Japanese tapas:
- Kani tempura - deep-fried butter crab, salad, fish vinaigrette
- Ceviche - salmon, shrimp, pulpo, red onions, chili, coriander, corn, avocado
- Taquito Tuna - Tuna & Tatar, Tortilla, Jalapeños, Shiso, Wakame, Tobiko, Chili-Truffle-Mayo

- Sake tataki - briefly seared salmon sashimi, miso teriyaki, salad
Asian fusion tapas, such as spring rolls, deep-fried prawns, rice paper rolls with chicken or salmon, and the popular seaweed salad "Wakame" are also on the menu at TA Izakaya.

For our salmon dishes, for example, we only use salmon with the 'Label Rouge' seal of quality, which is an official quality mark for top-quality food from France that is subject to strict specifications," says owner Van Trung Nguyen.
