Kalmbach and Kai Hürdler have been offering a varied cultural program for all Karlsruhe residents, rounded off by the best atmosphere and first-class drinks.

Owners Kai Hürdler and Julia Kalmbach have been reviving the basement premises of the former iconic
"Eisensteins" since April 2024, bringing a very special experience to
Karlsruhe city center, more precisely to Amalienstraße 53. "I have been running the restaurant on the first floor since the end of
2021. BESCHDE Pizza and always had the dream of combining this concept with a bar and entertainment program. After all, what could be better than delicious pizza with good friends in a cozy jazz cellar atmosphere," says Kai.

And the owner of Roots has definitely succeeded in creating this cozy atmosphere: Wing chairs, carpets,
pleasant lighting and lots of board and board games - here you have the feeling of being
at home with good friends. "That's simply very important to me. Roots should be a place to get to know
and get together. Whether over a cocktail with friends or at a
karaoke evening with all the guests present - everyone can have a good time here," says Kai.

With its program, Roots offers the perfect mix of evenings with calm
background music, crazy karaoke nights or entertaining comedy sessions. A look at the
event calendar reveals that there is something for every taste. "We can offer 50 seated places here for roots and around 150 standing places for concerts or parties," reveals the owner. The karaoke nights at Roots are particularly popular: "Thanks to the perfect lighting and a little fog, everyone becomes a star here and there are real goosebump moments when everyone in the bar is singing along," says Kai.

With his restaurant BESCHDE Pizza, Kai has long since won the hearts of Karlsruhe locals
and offers Roots guests the opportunity to combine the two: High-quality
drinks, jazz cellar flair and his "beschde Pizza". "Our guests can conveniently order their pizza from the service staff at
, which they can then enjoy down here at Roots," explains Kai. Of course,
also works the other way round - order the delicious drinks from Roots and enjoy pizza at BESCHDE
or on the shared outdoor terrace.

Here, Kai relies on the expertise of Julia Kalmbach, the owner of vomFassand his bartenders (Noah and David). "Julia is my business partner and, together with the team, we are always looking for new creations to surprise our guests," says the owner.

Kai also reveals: "Of course, our bar can also be booked for private parties
. Whether it's a birthday, team event or corporate event - Roots definitely offers a special
experience for every event." On request, the Roots team will take care of the catering, the
appropriate artist and the decorations.
