The enchanting bistro in Karlsruhe city center has expanded
On December 10, 2022, Le Renard opened its doors for the first time in the southern Waldstraße 66 and immediately wowed the entire fan-shaped city with delicious French delicacies, a very special interior and lots of charm. Around two and a half years later, Le Renard has now expanded and moved to the southern Waldstraße 60, a few houses down, in June 2025.
This Karlsruhe fox has taste
The larger bistro still features the popular Le Renard style with its green walls and the beloved tiles on the wall, which also inspired the name Le Renard. "We had a tiled stove in the family home that was decorated with various animals, and the fox was one of the first animals that caught our eye. It was immediately clear that the fox belonged in Waldstraße," says owner Klaus Kraft. Now the tiles also adorn the new bistro and create a very special charm. But it's not just the atmosphere and the special interior of the bistro that make it worth a visit, it's the French delicacies that have been attracting numerous visitors to Waldstraße since 2022. The master baker and pastry chef knows how to spoil his guests from years of experience: almost everything here is home-baked and homemade by the owner!

Whether it's a "Le petit déjeuner" - the Le Renard breakfast to start the day, a hearty quiche at lunchtime or welcoming the end of the working day with friends with something tangy - the French bistro is one of the addresses for enjoyment and delicious French delicacies in Karlsruhe.
"I am very fond of France and had the dream of doing something new. The location in the southern Waldastrasse was and is perfect for realizing Le Renard," says Klaus Kraft. The desire to expand quickly arose after the opening of the first location and when the opportunity arose to expand just two buildings away, Klaus Kraft seized the opportunity straight away.

With Le Renard, Klaus Kraft has managed to create a very special bistro that cannot be found anywhere else in Karlsruhe city center. Above all, the now enlarged outdoor area with cozy seating in the beautiful southern Waldstraße invites you to enjoy Karlsruhe's summer sun.
