The Pavel Miguel Gallery – new in Karlsruhe
Stirring art in and for the fan-shaped city
When strolling through downtown Karlsruhe, you don't necessarily expect to suddenly find yourself standing in front of expressive, internationally influenced art. And that's exactly why it's worth taking a detour to the Pavel Miguel Gallery at Kaiserstraße 53, where artist Pavel Miguel has created a place that invites you to pause and reflect, while also stirring your emotions.
Expressive art that inspires reflection in Karlsruhe
As soon as you enter the gallery, it becomes clear that the artist has immortalized himself here with his expressive works. Since its opening on October 24, 2025, Pavel Miguel's gallery has been inviting visitors to experience art in all its expressive power—right in the heart of downtown Karlsruhe. On display are:
- sculptures
- bronzes
- Portraits
- painting
- monuments
- reliefs
Even as a child, he was fascinated by art and his own creations: "All I needed was paper and pencils and I was happy—studying art came easily to me," says artist Pavel Miguel. And it is precisely this passion that can still be felt in all his works today. From impressive sculptures to expressive paintings—Pavel Miguel creates worksthat demand attention, touch the viewer, and inspire reflection. Miguel's art addresses major, topical issues such as freedom, identity, power, and vulnerability. For example, he created his work "Earth Cream" out of wood and ceramics, which depicts a melting globe and addresses the issue of the climate crisis, or his painting "Atomic Sardines," a combination of concrete and oil, with a sideways glance at the pollution of the oceans.
The gallery itself, located at Kaiserstrasse 53, directly opposite the main entrance to KIT, has a deliberately clear and open design. No clutter, no distractions—the art takes center stage. Light and architecture support the effect of the works without pushing themselves into the foreground. "Sabine Goll and I completely renovated the premises here and brought them to life according to our ideas," says Cuban-born artist Pavel Miguel. The gallery is managed and curated on a voluntary basis by Sabine Goll.
An art gallery as a place of exchange in Karlsruhe
In his gallery, Pavel Miguel is not only an exhibitor, but also a host, discussion partner, and source of ideas. The gallery also serves as a meeting place for him—a place where exchange is expressly encouraged.
"This fits perfectly with Karlsruhe: a city that enjoys discussion, experimentation, and embracing new perspectives. The gallery blends naturally into the creative environment of the city center and adds a distinctive, international voice to it," says Anton Goll, who has been successfully promoting Pavel Miguel for two years.
Tip: Pavel Miguel will also be at "art karlsruhe" from February 5 to 8, 2026, at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Center, with his monumental work "Everything I Should Know" in the sculture:garden. In addition, the exhibition "Embryos in Art – Which Came First, the Drawing or the Sculpture" will be on display in the gallery from March 14, 2026. It's worth stopping by!
