Founded in 1903 as a vine grafting facility and later operating as an independent research institute under the Karlsruhe Regional Council, the estate has belonged to L-Bank, the state bank of Baden-Württemberg, since 1993. It has set itself the task of successfully continuing the long tradition of winegrowing on the Turmberg —with special wines that have a character all their own.
The mineral-rich limestone soils and favorable microclimate provide the ideal conditions for high quality. The winery devotes particular attention to the cultivation of traditional grape varieties. We have carefully selected vines that are suited to the climate and soil at Turmberg. And we cultivate them with the same dedication, using traditional cultivation and cellaring methods.
These varieties harmonize particularly well with the terroir of the Turmberg and also certainly with your ideas of wine enjoyment: Riesling // Auxerrois // Pinot Blanc // Muscat Ottonel // Pinot Gris // Lemberger // Pinot Noir
Wine tastings are held individually on request for groups of 15 or more. Wine sales at the estate are always on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Every first Saturday of the month (except January and August) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Outside these times by appointment.
