The area between the ZKM and the Filmpalast is known as Platz der Menschenrechte. Formerly a war factory where forced laborers had to produce ammunition during the Second World War, the square now stands as a monument to peace where all people can gather.
Description
At Platz der Menschenrechte, important institutions of the state - namely art, culture and law - come together in the form of the ZKM, the Hochschule für Gestaltung and the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office. One of the steles of the Platz der Grundrechte is also located here, creating a link between the two squares.Â
