Church Center Peter and James
Bienwaldstaße, 76187 Karlsruhe
The church center planned by Peter Krebs and completed in 2017 in a suburban housing estate in the northwest of Karlsruhe has created a bright and clear interplay with the connection between the parish hall and the church.
The church center consists of roof surfaces of different heights. The façade, made of washed waterstruck bricks, gives the building a uniform appearance, which also suggests that the buildings represent the union of the two churches (St. Peter and St. James). It is also intended to stand for New Architecture in Karlsruhe, as the building's function is at the forefront. The church center received an award for "exemplary building" from the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects in 2018.
